A Not Very Exciting Holiday Season

Flu. Been really slow and low and unable to eat anything much. It's been cold and foggy and I feel much the same

Highlight of the week - sorting my untidy bobbin boxes and building a couple of new shelves next to my sewing machine, a much-needed addition to the room...

Feeding cats, of course
Rosie on the table

And Jim underneath...

And roadkill - note the delightful colour-co-ordination between this athletic sock and the Post Office wall
And someone had too many sweeties...

Best Laid Plans

...go Oft Astray
HB's dad was ill, so no Week of Miniatures. I came home and got distracted. And then there were the "can I have it for Christmas"  enquiries for the sewing machine stuff, all of which seemed to involve attics, rewiring, and swearing.. Post now finished for the year, so I was planning a Grand Tidy-up

And, now, have the flu. My Support Network is doing well, I have care packages and shopping and fetch-and-carry all working, and all I can do is sleep in my armchair in front of bad TV...

Caught this at the last Repair Cafe of the year - yes, you, with your "cold" and calling me a coward, I really really hate you

Sigh

Week Of Miniatures - Day One

We are making teeny quilts. Lots of fun, but not much diminution of the stash...

Many years ago, at a Quilters' Guild AGM in Newcastle (-Upon-Tyne, of course) I made this wee version of my Cats Quilts as a finalisation of the Quilt Types Set (Modern, Traditional, Contemporary, Miniature).. I then gave it to the Miniature Group, who promptly lost it... Sigh
Squares and strips cut to 1 inch, so the whole thing was about 5-1/2 inches square.

And, while tidying, I found the delightful ombre lawn that was the inspiration, added a different Liberty print, and made another...
Chain piecing. Squares are 1-1/2 inches cut, as are the prairie points (purry points). Need very careful ironing to avoid the fingertips... I plan to make a pattern...

Blocks made

More tomorrow, and I have another set to cut and make today in reds, oranges, and yellows

I'm also posting stuff on the Modern Art Quilters blog,  and the Modern Art Quilters Sew-Along FB page - see the link on the right or click on the links here (different images...)

Long day...

...had to be up really early to get a parking space in the same county as the Makers' Market at the Fisher Theatre n Bungay.

Actually not a bad day, and all the stuff I made specially sold at least one piece, mostly more than one...

Stall wondrously untidy, sigh...
Been making Coptic-bound books, which are delightful. Sold
only the mid-priced ones, which is pretty odd...
Book of Jam

Lucky Cat (a small one, 4 x 4 inches)

Rusty Spirals

Spines like this...
Fun to make
New pages HERE to buy these, and covered notebooks, and Japanese stab-bound, and photo albums..
Make lovely presents...
