Week Of Miniatures - Day One

We are making teeny quilts. Lots of fun, but not much diminution of the stash...

Many years ago, at a Quilters' Guild AGM in Newcastle (-Upon-Tyne, of course) I made this wee version of my Cats Quilts as a finalisation of the Quilt Types Set (Modern, Traditional, Contemporary, Miniature).. I then gave it to the Miniature Group, who promptly lost it... Sigh
Squares and strips cut to 1 inch, so the whole thing was about 5-1/2 inches square.

And, while tidying, I found the delightful ombre lawn that was the inspiration, added a different Liberty print, and made another...
Chain piecing. Squares are 1-1/2 inches cut, as are the prairie points (purry points). Need very careful ironing to avoid the fingertips... I plan to make a pattern...

Blocks made

More tomorrow, and I have another set to cut and make today in reds, oranges, and yellows

I'm also posting stuff on the Modern Art Quilters blog,  and the Modern Art Quilters Sew-Along FB page - see the link on the right or click on the links here (different images...)
