Happy, but exhausted

Back

from the Festival of Quilts, which was fun-but-tiring, and still sorting paperwork.. Aaaargh! I detest little bits of paper, which means that I am cruel to them, throwing them roughly into the bottom of my big bag and getting them all sweaty and crumpled

Just a couple of images, more later
Above, my Modern Sampler.. Apparently this was "Unsuitable for category" (Modern)
And below, Mel (co-ordinator) and Bridget (newsletter) from Region 9 leave the NEC with the last few Purses

Lexden Arts Festival

I was pleased to be invited to show my smaller pieces at this delightful and well-organised event in Colchester, which runs from  this Saturday till next, and has a terrific programme of Art, theatre, storytelling, and music.. Here's my little corner, ably arranged today and ready to roll..
The Art stuff (and teas) are at St Leonard's Church, Lexden Road
Details here

and the church is well worth a look too - lovely Victorian stained glass for a start...

Week of Silk

As those of you who read this blog will know, I tend to have occasional "weeks of" and this week I am concentrating on silk in all it's shimmery glory. Unusually, I have invited people to join me, but this has been of mixed utility.. Today was pretty good, however
So, so far, I have made some purses
of which this is a small selection
And some truly tiny blocks

..some of which I have made into a little quilt (approximately 8 inches square) - the blocks are 3 inches before joining and are foundation-pieced on calico

and a degree of mess, of course

Also some book covers, not yet finished, and sundry oddments

And come to a realisation that I may not live long enough to use all this silk at this rate of titchiness
