Week of Silk
As those of you who read this blog will know, I tend to have occasional "weeks of" and this week I am concentrating on silk in all it's shimmery glory. Unusually, I have invited people to join me, but this has been of mixed utility.. Today was pretty good, however
So, so far, I have made some purses
of which this is a small selection
And some truly tiny blocks
..some of which I have made into a little quilt (approximately 8 inches square) - the blocks are 3 inches before joining and are foundation-pieced on calico
and a degree of mess, of course
Also some book covers, not yet finished, and sundry oddments
And come to a realisation that I may not live long enough to use all this silk at this rate of titchiness

West Country Quilt Show with the Modern Quilt Group
So far, so good.. The Challenge Quilts look fantastic, and so many different takes on a simple idea (the Equilateral Triangle and its offspring, the Diamond and the Hexagon.)
Heather, Lucy Poloniecka and I had a deal of fun sorting these into groups of three... Kate Percival, our Exhibitions Officer, joins us tomorrow
..and hanging them with the help of two stalwart standers-on-ladders-with-screwdrivers...
We have more quilts than walls, of course, even though we seem to have an awful lot of wall
Heather arranges her table - note the Old Black Singer - we have brought two, so no fighting
Nearly there...
Tired
I wish my camera did Panoramic - this is not all of it
More tomorrow, and please do come
We're at the University of Western England, Bristol till Saturday evening...
Details here

I Went to Duxford Quilt Show...
...and I bought A Rainbow of Moderns
Some Red White and Blues
Skullingtons (it is Hallowe'en today)
and this, to overdye and make a new skirt, I think

Time for a Little Something
Camera Plays
Reminding me of pumpkins
Cat, on the other hand, sleeps the sleep of the just in the winter greenhouse
Meanwhile, some very small leaves fall, and stick
Some more lonely than others
Some seem to need company...
Happy Autumn!

Roofline, Dundee
Penguins, Dundee
Lacy Hat, Dundee
Fountain, Clevedon. Grade 2 listed!
Fireplace in the Hotel-with-no-towels, Cinderford
Dundee cathedral door - sadly, the building was closed, as God was not in
On the other hand, Desperate Dan was full of cow pie
and this beautiful chair was in Cinderford
