Day 5 - Surprisingly photogenic after all

Day started well, with another glorious sunrise but the road North was wet and rather dreary, and very windy..

...and it's remarkably hard to find places to stop where the scenery is worth looking at - it seems that all the lay-bys are in boring bits. I did get to stop at the Border and say Hello Scotland! My first foreign country since early 2019

The gate house - I'm on a part of the Balbirnie Hall land here. The park looks interesting; has a stone circle and a Craft Centre, and, I suspect, teas. I plan to get Blue Bike out tomorrow as it's perfect cycling country

Curses of a New Computer

 Almost £2750

Nice enough, shiny and Loads of Capacity, (a Terabyte of memory!) but new versions of software are needed, there are loads of idiotic pre-sets.  It had poor transfer of information and Applications, and Oh! Why does the new BBedit have text in white on black? How stupid? I'm not a 15-year-old gamer nor am I willing to accept the Hipster Vibe thing.

And my beloved Photoshop doesn't work!!!

New version, almost £100. I got robbed first for a download by a stupid re-seller with no manners, had to buy a new version on a disc (which involves finding the external hard drive, adding a connector, waiting, waiting, Grrrrr)

I had not thought about it, but I probably make 500 images a week with Photoshop, and the process is easy and intuitive after 30 years of working with the programme. I just hope the latest version looks and feels like the older ones, will accept my pre-sets, and will not cause bald patches

Stormy Weather

Rain, cold, I got the duvet out and put the heating on and lit the fire... Huge winds, big rain, trees falling over, humungous puddles, and firmly closed windows...

...and I've been making kites and flags, see here for what there is in stock. Still no commissions, I don't plan to do that ever again...

Reasons to be Cheerful, I Think

Leaves are lovely. The colours lift my heart

I don't think I bear to be miserable for much longer, and it's not fair on my Lovely Man, who is so diminished, to take away a smiling face. Even if he is always asleep, he deserves better...


And there are always things to amuse me. In the rain, 1/2 hour to do everything, and after an argument with Boots, who don't order stuff in on time or at all, and seem not to give a monkeys... This nice thing in a gutter...

And my only bit of sewing this week - I had to make blocks for Siblings Together, string-pieced on A4 paper, not my idea of nice, too big. So, I made this one, total of A4 in 7 parts. Much more amusing...
