Says it all..

Last Gasp of the Big Red Car

On the way to Wolterton Hall with Heather, to do the Costume and Textile Fair, i was savagely attacked by a falling oak tree.  The resulting chaos; road closed, 9 hours in A and E,  damaged tendons, and completely written-off car..
And 6 weeks in a cast/splint

Oh, bugger...

Updated Sunday 15th.  Sore but still alive, and frustrated by the cast.. The cat slept on me all night to "look after" me.  I'm not going to be able to work at all well, and all this is going to cost a fortune.. Grrr
On the other hand, my blog stats have been good..

Roadkill and Kindness

Walking home yesterday, sunny and nice but I was soooo tired.. This was in the middle of the road.  Too heavy for me to lift, and I was looking at it and directing traffic around it.  A big car with a trailer pulled up and a young man, rather scruffy, jumps out, carefully asks if it's OK, then puts the tyre on the verge for me.. Nice man...
And he let me take a picture first..
Picked blackberries, probably the last for the year, and a big punnet of sloes for my gin-making friend.
Then I went to sleep all afternoon..
This recovery stuff is exhausting..

I have been reading my new book, Handmade Bindings, 100+ Bindings Structures and Forms by Alisa Golden  (link is to Amazon) - I have had a passion for small book forms for ages, but this book is simply terrific.  She writes so well and explains so nicely that I am all inspired...
